API Movement Merger Celebration As A Social Justice Fair5/5/08 Ten social justice organizations. Fifty new People looking to get active. The Asian American Movement Ezine (Azine) celebrated its merger into the API Movement by organizing a social justice fair to strengthen the local movement in Boston. All the groups felt that the interest among new people was encouraging. Representing, API Movement, Mike Liu said, “Social justice organizations and individuals working and deciding things together can help each other and accomplish more than working apart. It’s this spirit of working together that led us to hold this first social justice fair.” While API Movement is a national group, in Boston, it is focused on immigrant rights and activist training. The Azine will continue to be published. Participating groups in addition to the Azine and the API Movement included Alternatives for Community and Environment, Asian American Resource Workshop, Asian Community Development Corporation, Boston Asian Student Alliance, Boston Progress Arts Collective, Cambodian American Activist Group, Coalition for Asian Pacific American Youth, Chinese Progressive Association, and the Massachusetts Asian American Educators Association.
