DA Refuses to Charge Officers in Cho Case
After the Orange County District Attorney’s Office decided that two cops who shot a Korean American student eleven times because he had a tire iron, the Cho family filed a civil lawsuit against the La Habra City and the officers.

Deported Indian immigrant sues Edison, NJ police and ICE for brutality and violation of constitutional rights
After Police beat the crap out of Rajnikant Parikh last July, 2006, he was deported when he filed a complaint. He has now filed a lawsuit in New Jersey federal court against the Town of Edison, its police department and ICE. The Korean American mayor is defending the police.

APEN Fights Chevron Refinery Expansion
The Asian Pacific Environmental Network has joined a coalition of neighborhood groups. The coalition is opposing the expansion of a Chevron refinery in Richmond, California that has been poisoning the Bay Area community for decades. The Richmond Planning Commission approved the expansion but the coalition is fighting on.

After Vietnamese co-valedictorians used some Vietnamese sentences in their graduation speeces, school officials in Terrebonne Parish, LA are considering a policy banning any part of a commencement speech not in English.
